We are optimistic that this month will mark the beginning of a new era of motoring in Sri Lanka. That’s because Motor, together with some civic minded - and indeed responsible - motorists started a Road Users’ Think Tank (RUTT). The primary focus of RUTT is to find solutions to the worsening traffic situation in Sri Lanka.
RUTT will not only come up with solutions; but will propose and discuss these solutions with the powers that be; be they the Police, Politicians, Road Development Authority or the local Municipal Councils with a view to reaching consensus and then implementation of a whole host of good and internationally tried and tested practices.
In fact you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that very soon our country will be grid-locked if drivers continue to drive the way they do, and the authorities have only knee-jerk band-aid solutions to offer. Strictly a citizens’ group; RUTT will come up with short term, medium term and long term solutions to the seemingly insurmountable problems on our roads. More information about RUTT in this magazine and the magazines to come.
Motor has for 23+ years provided Sri Lankans with a place to find whatever they need to know about cars bikes, travel, motor sports and more, in addition to providing a platform to feature their cars, bikes etc, and over the years we’ve evolved from a print only magazine to Sri Lanka’s only proper digital magazine which is freely circulated for people’s reading pleasure.
We are happy to note that Motor is currently read by over 100,000 Sri Lankans every month due to its availability as a digital magazine. Motor is also available internationally on several digital magazine stands which makes it available to millions of readers worldwide. As the largest automotive magazine in Sri Lanka, we think it’s natural that we’d be the best people to keep you up to date and entertained with all things auto!
Motor has also over the years become a place for enthusiasts of classic & vintage cars to read about the car of their dreams or just something interesting to share with friends on Facebook. In fact we recently passed the 250 mark of featuring classic/vintage cars and bikes for your reading pleasure!
Just as we Test Drive the latest cars, ride the latest bikes, go to the motor races and go on off-road adventures; a lot of hard work goes on behind the scene - like writing, photography, creating layouts and indeed marketing & distribution – often taking many of us late in to the night; all to bring you hours of joy in reading Motor.
