High-speed Hockenheim hosts Euroformula Open
Yevan David leads the points table

The Euroformula Open heads to the Hockenheimring on 8th June 2025 for the third round of the season.
Hockenheim will be another interesting test for both the new machines and the new contenders, as the 4.574-km historic track in Baden-Württemberg is certainly not an easy one, with its very fast straights, its chicane, and the iconic Motodrom section.
One
thing is sure: the fight at the top of the standings is fierce and spectacular,
thanks to the two drivers who are standing out at the moment.

Yevan David (Motopark) is leading the standings with 122 points. The Sri Lankan has proven consistent and effective, having netted three wins, two additional podium finishes, and one pole. Equally impressive has been Tymek Kucharczyk (BVM Racing), who is 20 points behind, a difference that would be smaller without the two stalls suffered in Portugal when he still was familiarizing himself with the car. But, with two wins, two other podium finishes, and one pole, the young Pole has proven his value.
Behind
the two at the top, two other drivers have proven to be able to be part of the
fight for the title. South Korean Michael Shin (Motopark) has been extremely
consistent, while Ed Pearson, who leads the ranks at Nielsen Racing, the new
top squad in contention this year, has already claimed one win and just needs
greater consistency.
Potential
winners also include three other drivers of Motopark, who have already visited
the podium and are regularly among the front-runners: Fernando Barrichello can
capitalize on the experience gained last year, while José Garfias has proven he
can be very fast and his country-fellow Diego de la Torre is rapidly adjusting
to a car and series new to him.
Constant
progress is also the keyword for three new faces this year: US racers Everett
Stack (Motopark) and Shawn Rashid, and Briton Finn Green, both driving for
Nielsen Motorsport. On its side, BVM Racing still has to nominate a new driver
for its second car in Germany, as Vladislav Ryabov, who was fast but unlucky in
the first two rounds, is trying to find additional budget for his campaign.
Gold
Cup race Paolo Brajnik, delighted with the new car and closer to his very young
opponents, will continue his personal challenge at the wheel of the NV Racing
car.
