Classic Car Club of Ceylon AGM 2021

The Classic Car Club holds their 2021 AGM with a new president elected

Published on 29 Dec 2021

The 29th Annual General Meeting of the Classic Car Club of Ceylon (CCCC) was successfully held on the 7th of October 2021. Given the prevailing COVID situation and keeping in mind the safety of its members, the club choose to host a Digital AGM, a first for the CCCC, which was well attended by members.

After five illustrious years as the President and holding the distinction as the clubs’ first female president, Mrs. Ramani Ponnambalam stepped down from the post. The Club has undoubtedly risen to new heights during her tenure and Mrs. Ponnambalam will continue in her capacity as the Immediate Past President.

Taking on the mantle as president is Clive de Silva who is only the 6th President to hold the post in the Club's nearly 3 decade long history, and is also the youngest person to hold the title of president. 'Junior' as he is affectionately known, has been in the club since he was 13 years old and has served in the committee as the Social Secretary, Competitions Secretary and Vice President to date.

“He has played an integral part in organising some of the Club's flagship events and we look forward to his tenure as a new chapter in the clubs’ history” said a long-standing member of the club.
